Oppo installs a 32 MP front-facing camera with an 85° field of view and fixed focus in the Reno6 5G. Portrait pictures taken with it show many details and quite natural colors. Object transitions are clearly delineated. The camera equipment on the back consists of a 64 MP main sensor, an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2 MP macro sensor. Close-ups are very detailed with 64 MP. Our test photography shows strong colors and many very well separated contents. Panoramic motifs also show a lot of details and strong colors.

Oppo Reno6 5G in review: High-quality mid-range smartphone

Pictures taken with the ultra-wide-angle lens also show strong colors, but also a slight graininess. Lens edges are also slightly out of focus. Since there is no optical zoom, content can only be zoomed in via software. A lot of details are lost and we see somewhat muddy surfaces as well as blurred objects. Our test subject can be recognized in low-light conditions, but the colors are too dark and the graininess is a bit more visible. The image quality can be adjusted via various color modes as well as via a Pro mode.

Video recordings show a similar picture quality as our sample photographs, whereby extensive adjustments are possible via a so-called movie mode. The available resolutions include 4K at 30 fps and 1080p as well as 720p at 60 or 30 fps each.
